Lisa Edelstein was an American actress who is best known for her role as the main character of Fox's House medical show. Her family was from Wayne where she was a part of a traditional Jewish tradition. At the age of 18, she emigrated into New York City to study at the Tisch School for the Arts. The school was heavily involved in the clubs in New York City and was able that she was noticed by the media. While doing so she became more conscious of AIDS its devastating consequences. She then used her background and fame, as well as her own experience to create and perform a show called Positive Me. Soon after, she was offered a job at MTV and was the host of Awake on the Wild Side. When the show was over her appearances began in the film and television industry, beginning with small parts, but gradually establishing herself as an actor.
