Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a popular public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency was created by Sarkeesian. The site hosts videos featuring commentary and analysis of the representations of women that are prevalent in contemporary culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that investigates representations of women in narratives from popular culture. As well as working to highlight the problems surrounding sexual harassment and assaults on women and other minorities in online spaces she is determined to break down stereotypes that are associated with pop culture. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in political thought and social theory at York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. From an early age Sarkeesian was captivated by the issue of gender identity and feminist thought. While still at school in 2009, she launched her Feminist Frequency Website. The determined young lady was harassed online for launching a website that focused on the gender of videogames. The incident did not deter her from pursuing the project, and instead it bolstered her determination as a feminist critic of media. Numerous awards have been awarded to her for her contributions to the field she have made. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winner for her work as a media critic. She also serves as the director and founder of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit organisation that studies pop culture representations of females.
